De student: 

1.      kan de plaats en betekenis beschrijven die de schepping heeft in het Oude en Nieuwe Testament in relatie tot het verlossingswerk van God;..

2.      kan verschillende methoden van ecologische hermeneutiek en de plus- en minpunten daarvan analyseren; 

3.      kan kritisch reflecteren op ambivalentie in bijbelteksten wanneer ze gelezen worden in de context van hedendaagse ecologische uitdagingen; 

4.      kan de bijbelse perspectieven van gerechtigheid en hoop op een vruchtbare manier in verbinding brengen met de huidige ecologische problematiek. 

Introductie in ecologische hermeneutiek; bespreking van teksten uit het Oude en Nieuwe Testament die van belang zijn voor de volgende vier thema's: 1. Schepping als theater van Gods glorie; 2. Mens en niet-menselijke schepping; 3. Hoop: toekomst van God; 4. Gerechtigheid en verantwoordelijkheid; Gastspreker (bijv. auteur van boek waarover leesverslag wordt gemaakt). 

Hoor- en werkcolleges; zelfstudie; groepsgesprek; essaydag.  

Contacturen: 12 (4x3 college) + 4 (gastspreker) + 4 (essaydag) = 20 uur 

Collegevoorbereiding: 16 uur (leesstof + input op Canvas)  

Literatuurstudie: 110 uur (ong. 800-1000 bladzijden)
