The student: 

1.      can describe the main features of the history, culture and religions of the Hellenistic world and the early Roman empire, with emphasis on the first century CE (ET2, MTP ET2); 

2.      can interpret source texts from outside the New Testament with the help of secondary literature 

3.      can apply this knowledge to the interpretation of the New Testament (ET2, MTP ET2); 

4.      can describe and evaluate the history and the main issues of New Testament Theology (ET2 and 3, MPT ET 2 and 3).

2.      A theology of the New Testament. 

One seminar is devoted to the history and central issues of the discipline of New Testament theology. 

In two other seminars students present sources from the world of the New Testament and discuss their relevance for the theology of the New Testament.
