The goal of the Minor Reading is to do preparational reading for the Master thesis. After the Minor Reading the student:
1. can identify the main challenges and questions regarding the research topic of the Master thesis;
2. can analyse and reflect on the main questions related to the research topic of the Master thesis.

Independent reading programme

Reading approximately 700 pages (depending on the difficulty of the texts this might be more or less), to be discussed with the module coordinator.

1. Reading report of 7,000-10,000 words. Give your own reflection of what you have read, by means of asking three questions:
•    what was new for me and can be used for my research?
•    what was difficult (what questions do I have?) and does this have implications for my research topic?
•    what needs further discussion in my Master thesis?
Make, where appropriate, connections with earlier obtained knowledge and show the eventual differences and comparisons between the different readings (e.g. contradicting opinions / additional points of view etc.). 

2. Write a separate section (excurs) on one of the main challenges or questions that emerged from the Minor readings and that is of particular importance for your Master thesis. (1500-2000 words)

3. For the assessment it is important that:
- the three questions above are answered in a clear way (please answer the questions separately)
- you show that you cannot not just summarize and reproduce the reading materials, but also reflect on the readings from a theological perspective, in line with what is taught in the MIRT-modules (esp. NIRT1, MIRT6, MIRT8 and the Common Course).
